Abstract
This report summarizes a brief description/history of the Hydrogen Research Meetings as well as key presentations/oral abstracts delivered in the most recent symposium. Additionally, we introduced 38 diseases and physiological states for which hydrogen exhibits beneficial effects.

- Article type
- Review
- Disease / injury model
- Multiple disease models including cerebral infarction, metabolic syndrome, MELAS, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, diabetes, kidney and liver injury, etc.
- Dose comparison
- The article notes that the amount of administered hydrogen (e.g., >1L/day from gut bacteria vs. <50ml from hydrogen water) does not necessarily correlate with the extent of biological effects, suggesting a non-linear or threshold effect.
- Dose-dependent effect
- No
- Outcome
- Positive
- Findings
- Hydrogen exhibits beneficial effects in at least 38 diseases and physiological states, as reported in both animal and human studies. The symposium highlighted the breadth of hydrogen's potential, including anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic effects, with clinical and preclinical evidence supporting its use in neurological, metabolic, cardiovascular, renal, hepatic, and other disorders.
